The School of Art and Art History at Florida International University, located in beautiful Miami, Florida, offers programs leading to a Master in Fine Arts in Visual Arts (MFA) degree, with concentrations in drawing, painting, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and new media.
The School of Art and Art History at FIU provides a sanctuary for the development of new visions, ideas and techniques. Our faculty is comprised of nationally recognized and practicing artists and art historians, and the interactivity of our Studio Arts and Art History programs creates a communal atmosphere that encourages trust, artistic camaraderie, and a climate that is ideal for aesthetic and intellectual growth. We offer a 3-year program with an intensive, intimate and multi-disciplinary approach to the development of work in a variety of media.
Our location also provides the advantage of access to Art Basel Miami Beach, which has become one of the most important international art fairs in the United States, and to the art scene in the burgeoning Wynwood and Design Districts , squarely in the intersection of contemporary culture and urban revitalization. For a thorough review of all things art-related in South Florida, check out MAEX , a dense website that includes gallery opening, artist portfolios, and a host of links to museums and galleries in three counties.
