Born in New York, she has spent the last 23 years living, studying and working in Miami, Florida. She received a BFA and MFA from FIU.
Her teaching philosophy embraces traditional, experimental and conceptual approaches within the structure of the course. As an artist, she has traveled extensively mainly throughout North America and this experience has been the basis of much of her creative work. She has developed work based on the metaphysical experience of the landscape, which has always been more important to her than the physical journey.
Recently, the work has taken the form of a series of panoramic images on concave arcs of formed wood. The richly layered imagery is epic and personal, physical and elusive, presenting a wide sweep of landscape, which holds a layered history of habitation and incident. So while one piece might suggest an almost topographic vision of a Southwestern river valley the areas within it hints at mysterious and mystic layers of detail.
Her most recent exhibition was collaboration with Clive King at the MIA Gallery in Miami. Her works are in collections in Miami, New York, and the UK.
