Hugo Moro | Adjunct Faculty, Ceramics

Hugo Moro was born in Havana, Cuba. He immigrated to the United States in 1966, and settled in New York City, where he attended The High School of Art and Design, Pratt Institute and The Fashion Institute of Technology. In New York, he held various design positions in advertising and publishing before relocating to Miami FL, in 1999. Since then, he has made several trips to Cuba with Research Travel Grants from The Cuban Research Institute at Florida International University, where he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2006. He is an award-winning artist who has exhibited extensively locally, nationally and brought his installation “Almacen” to the IX Havana Biennial after being invited by the collateral exhibitions committee. He has been an artist in residence at Art Center/South Florida since 2007.
