Sculpture and 3-D Design
At various points in my career, my sculpture involved ideas and sensibilities about space, and spatial relationships between the work and its relationship to the landscape. Often, it emphasized the interplay and counterpoint of materials, the intrinsic nature of the materials being used, and the interrelationship of size, measurement and amount of material as related human and architectural considerations.

My most recent work, are of cast aluminum and the main thrust of the idea stem from observations of splashed and still water and very recently, from the celestial photos produced through the Hubble telescope.

The aluminum with its reflective and refractive white light, transposes familiar objects, events and situations making them seem strange as though from another time or reality.

The surfaces of the aluminum are given various combinations of treatments by grinding, buffing and high polishing. These surfaces react and respond to the surrounding surfaces, textures and colors by reflecting and refracting and picking up surrounding color. Color often is added to the aluminum surfaces as part of the sculpture.
